World War II in Rome
World War II involved almost all of Europe in the 20th century, and Italy was no exception. As an ally of Germany, fascist Italy participated in the persecution of Jews and their deportation to concentration camps. Rome was also bombarded. During the tour you will visit one of the oldest Jewish quarters in Europe, learn about fascist Italy, see the buildings where the Jewish people lived, and see the names of those deported and murdered. The guide will tell you stories of the war, Mussolini, fascists and post-war Italy.
